It’s time to emerge from hibernation and get ready to show some skin. Here is my 7-day guide to looking and feeling your best this spring.
Days 1-3: Banish Belly Fat
Use the first three days to clean up your belly and lose a little excess winter weight. Start with a 3-day detox such as this one, adapted from the first three days of The 21-Day Belly Fix.
Here is the plan:
1) Begin the morning with 1-2 tablespoons of raw apple cider vinegar diluted in water.
2) Follow this with a protein shake for breakfast.
3) Have a green drink for lunch (such as this one).
4) Eat a large plant based meal for dinner.
5) Throughout the day, drink 100 oz. water.
Modification: Don’t have time for all the prep? Just focus on eating pure simple foods, adding in the raw apple cider vinegar and daily green drink.
Days 4-6: Exfoliate Your Winter Skin
For the body: Mix 1 cup of Dr. Teal’s Epsom salts with a healthy oil for the skin – coconut, olive, or jojoba. Create a thick paste and scrub before your shower. After the shower, add 1-2 teaspoons of your favorite oil to your moisturizer, and apply head to toe.
For the face: Fermented foods aren’t just for your belly. They also work as a natural source of anti-microbials and skin sloughing lactic or glycolic acid. Try this nourishing mask for a glowing spring face.
Dr. Taz face mask:
- 2 teaspoons of kefir or yogurt
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon honey
Apply for 15-30 minutes, then rinse clean.
Day 5-7: Tackle the Cellulite
Keep it up with the green drinks and 100 oz. of water.
Days 5-7 strive for at least ten minutes of weights and/or pilates. Here are a couple of good exercises you can do anywhere.
This combination will reduce the appearance of cellulite.
