Allergy Prevention: Kale Blueberry Pineapple Smoothie

Spring is officially here and with it comes the gorgeous blooms and greenery! But, it’s also time for that car-coating pollen and the typical itchy eyes and runny noses. You may get sick of hearing this from me, but it doesn’t have to be this way! Though it’s best to start your spring allergy prevention in the late winter through balancing gut bacteria and boosting your immune system….it’s not too late. Boost your immune system by eating the right foods—like drinking healthy smoothies—and reduce the amount of refined sugar, processed foods and dairy you consume. Kale Blueberry Pineapple Smoothie

Recipe

1 cup cold purified water

1 cup organic kale (cut and trimmed)

1 cup organic blueberries (frozen or fresh)

Handful of fresh pineapple chunks

Squeeze of local honey (optional)

Handful of ice cubes

Blend together until smooth. Enjoy several times a week!
