Dr. Taz Bhatia MD is a board-certified physician, specializing in integrative, holistic, functional, regenerative and emergency medicine with expertise in pediatrics, prevention and women’s health. She is the author of What Doctors Eat and The 21-Day Belly Fix.
Personal health challenges in her twenties combined with a broken health care system motivated Dr. Taz to pursue an alternative definition of health and healthy living. Early in her medical practice, as a young resident, Dr. Taz began searching for answers beyond the textbooks. Studying various systems of medicine, she found a wealth of information not yet taught in conventional medical schools. It led her to opening her now nationally recognized practice, the Atlanta Center for Holistic and Integrative Medicine. Voted Atlanta’s Best Integrative Medicine Facility, Dr. Taz designed the center to help patients navigate their journey to WHOLE health—finding solutions from multiple vantage points and different systems of medicine.
From prevention and wellness to complex medical conditions, Dr. Taz and her team are committed to their patients’ WHOLE health—incorporating the best that western and eastern systems of medicine have to offer. In merging the two, patients are offered a highly individualized treatment plans with biotype matching for optimal health—impacting their WHOLE life.
Through her studies and experience, Dr. Taz recognizes the profound connection and synergy between women’s and children’s health and their ultimate impact on the health of the entire family. With an established agenda of improving women’s and children’s health, Dr. Taz expanded her reach through media in 2003. Since then, she has served as a medical expert for CNN Headline News, a Dr. Oz Sharecare expert, columnist and contributing editor for Prevention Magazine and been featured on numerous media outlets, including TODAY, Access Hollywood, Good Morning America, The Weather Channel, EXTRA!, Live with Kelly and Michael and the Meredith Vieira Show. As an associate professor at Emory University and former spokeswoman for the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Taz MD continues to bring attention to the frequently ignored health issues of women and children.
Dr. Taz MD, is a Fellow of the University of Arizona Program in Integrative Medicine led by Dr. Andrew Weil, completing the fellowship in 2008. A native Atlantan, she attended The Westminster Schools, Emory University, the University of Georgia and the Medical College of Georgia. Completing her residency in pediatrics at the Medical College of Virginia in 2000, she received the Emily Gardner award for best pediatric resident.
Dr. Taz has since been featured in Atlanta’s Top Docs and voted numerous times as Best Atlanta Integrative Medicine Physician. When not caring for patients, Dr. Taz MD, can be found spending time with her husband and two young children, reading, studying, practicing yoga, trying new things in the kitchen and traveling.
